Pop Punk / Punk

About :
Seattle-based Amber Pacific first formed in 2002 as Follow Through while the guys were still juniors in high school. Hopeless Records heard some of the band's initial recordings and signed them up, and the combo made its debut as Amber Pacific in May 2004 with theFading Days EP. The sound was urgent, slick punk-pop in the vein ofStory of the Year, the Audition, and the All-American Rejects. Amber Pacific worked hard in the summer that followed, honing their skills as a touring band with dates on the Warped Tour. Following that they reentered the studio, and the full-length The Possibility and the Promise appeared just about a year after the original EP. By this point the band's lineup included vocalist Matt Young, guitarists Will Nutter and Justin Westcott, drummer Dango, and bassist Greg Strong. Touring continued, including another summer spent on Warped, though Westcott left sometime along the way. Takeover Records owner and ex-Yellowcard member Ben Harper joined the gang in summer 2006 as their touring second guitarist, and though he was announced to be a permanent addition that October, he'd moved on by the year's end. The foursome continued on ahead, however, and in May 2007 their sophomore album, Truth in Sincerity, was released.

History :

Amber Pacific began as a trio of high school juniors who performed locally in their Federal Way hometown, near Seattle, under the name Follow Through. They participated on the Warped Tour in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007, and toured with Matchbook Romance on the Sub City Take Action Tour in spring of 2006.
Ben Harper (originally in Yellowcard) joined Amber Pacific and joined the recording of their second studio album, Truth in Sincerity.Recording started 16 October 2006, but Harper left the band before the end of the year. The band released the album on May 22 2007, selling around 10,000 copies in America in its first week and landing on the Billboard 200 at number 64. The first song released as a single from the album was entitled Fall Back Into My Life and appears on the TMNT soundtrack. A video was made for the song and a second single, entitled You're Only Young Once, was released as well.
In February of 2008, lead vocalist Matt Young left Amber Pacific, to pursue a career in public education as a principal, in "hopes that [he] can better prepare future generations for what lies ahead". They have since found a new vocalist, Jesse Cottam, who has been announced on the band's MySpace. Jesse was formerly the lead vocalist of the Canadian band Sevens Angel and was also a contestant on Canadian Idol. Guitarist Davy Rispoli was officially announced to have joined the band along with Jesse in the band's video blog (see Amber Pacific MySpace) It has also been said that their third album should be released in early 2009, but will not be released on Hopeless records since the band has fulfilled their three album contract (2 albums, 1 EP) and have decided to part ways with the music label.
On January 27, 2009, the band uploaded three new songs to their official MySpace page, which feature Jesse Cottam as their new singer.  They later released a self-titled digital EP on iTunes featuring the three songs on the 25th February.
On May 30, 2009, Amber Pacific played on the Main Stage at Big Splash, a Christian Music Day at Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way, Washington.
In October 2009, Amber Pacific posted blogs on their Myspace and Twitter telling people to join their fan page on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. If they reach 7500 fans on Facebook they will release two newly recorded tracks. If they reach 1000 followers on Twitter they will release another newly recorded track. The two tracks were released in early November.
On November 17, 2009 it was announced that Amber Pacific signed to Victory Records via their MySpace page.
They are currently recording a new album which they will release on Victory Records.
